Registration for WPO WorldStar Student Award is open

The Institute of Packaging South Africa (IPSA), a very active member of WPO (World Packaging Organization) and responsible for organizing the 2016/2017/2018 editions of WorldStar Student Award, announced the on-line registration closes by November 4th. The judging process begins on November 14th and results will be announced on December 5th; the award ceremony will take place during Interpack 2017, in Düsseldorf (Germany), in May.

In the 2015 edition, the WorldStar Student Award registered 173 entries from packaging students all over the world. “No doubt we have consolidated the most international packaging design competition for students – undergraduate or graduate - from countries where there are WPO members. To participate in the competition, the packaging must be innovative, aesthetically appealing, environmentally compliant, easy to manufacture, convenient and relevant on a global level”, explains Thomas Schneider, WPO President.

Since 2015, the competition has added a new category entitled the “Save Food Student Packaging Award” that registered 12 entries in the last edition. The competition is open to students who have won a legitimate local award in their region or country and who are involved in projects in the field of packaging, including structural design and/or graphic design.

Entries are completed with a simple on-line process at the WPO WorldStar Student Awards Website. The website is slightly updated and now offers on-line payment for entries by credit card (MasterCard or Visa). EFT payments are still possible and acceptable.
