Auctane Taps Amazon Logistics Veteran Josh Steinitz as Chief Strategy Officer to Drive Global Growth
The move signals Auctane's ambition to deepen its strategic partnerships and expand its global footprint, leveraging Steinitz's experience in building massive logistics networks at Amazon.
Auctane, a global leader in shipping and mailing solutions, has announced the appointment of technology growth leader and logistics veteran Josh Steinitz as its new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). The company, which owns a portfolio of trusted e-commerce brands including ShipStation, Stamps.com, Metapack, and Packlink, is bringing Steinitz aboard to spearhead corporate development, strategic partnerships, and cross-border solutions.
The strategic hire brings a leader with deep experience from the epicenter of modern logistics innovation: Amazon. Steinitz’s appointment is a clear signal of Auctane’s intent to further solidify its market position and drive the next phase of its global expansion.
"We are thrilled to welcome Josh Steinitz to Auctane’s executive team," said Al Ko, CEO of Auctane. "Josh’s extensive background in corporate development and strategic partnerships, as well as his deep understanding of global logistics and technology will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and forge strong connections to expand our offerings to customers around the world."
A Legacy of Building Global Scale at Amazon
Before joining Auctane, Steinitz led corporate business development for Amazon Worldwide Operations, a role that placed him at the heart of the e-commerce giant's global supply chain. During his tenure, he was instrumental in some of Amazon’s most ambitious logistics projects, including the launch of Amazon Logistics and the expansion of the Amazon Air cargo network.
His work involved managing high-stakes strategic partnerships and investments that shaped the future of fulfillment and transportation. He played a key role in driving sustainability efforts across the business, overseeing landmark partnerships with companies like electric vehicle maker Rivian, automotive giant Stellantis, and air cargo leader DHL.
Steinitz's team also managed commercial relationships and investments in a wide array of cutting-edge sectors, including digital mapping, EV charging infrastructure, robotics and autonomy, and supply chain software, giving him a unique and comprehensive view of the entire logistics ecosystem.
A Unique Perspective from Travel and Technology
Prior to his transformative work at Amazon, Steinitz spent nearly two decades in the travel industry, where he honed his skills in global business development and digital platform strategy. He served as Vice President of Global Business Development at Revinate and was the founder of NileGuide, which was later sold to Travora Media. Early in his career, he helped launch the media business at Away.com, which was subsequently acquired by Orbitz.
This distinguished career in both travel and logistics provides Steinitz with a unique perspective on the complexities of global operations and the power of strategic partnerships to drive growth and innovation.
As Chief Strategy Officer at Auctane, Steinitz will leverage this extensive experience to advance the company's longstanding position as a market leader, focusing on carrier relationships, corporate strategy, and the expansion of its cross-border solutions for its global customer base. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University.
