What Is a Video Wall

Walk into a modern retail store, corporate lobby, airport, or shopping mall, and you’ll likely see large digital displays made up of multiple screens working together as one visual experience. This is known as a Video Wall a feature of digital signage software

A Video Wall is a group of displays arranged to present content across multiple screens. It can be used to show one large image or video spanning all displays, or different content on each screen while maintaining a coordinated visual experience.

The challenge is synchronization.

When multiple displays are connected, even a small delay between screens can be noticeable. If one screen is a few seconds ahead or behind another, the visual impact is lost and the installation looks unprofessional.

The Synchronization Challenge

In many deployments, displays do not start at the same time.

For example:

• Screen 1 may be powered on at 10:00 AM
• Screen 2 at 10:05 AM
• Screen 3 at 10:10 AM

Without synchronization, each screen would be playing a different part of the content, creating an inconsistent experience for viewers.

Our Solution

We have developed Video Wall synchronization technology for Samsung commercial displays, LG commercial displays, and Android-based digital signage players.

The concept is simple.

Create playlists with exactly the same total duration. Once assigned to the displays, every player automatically calculates its position within the shared timeline.

As a result, all screens display the correct content at the same moment, even if they were started at different times.

Example

Imagine all displays are assigned a promotional video that is exactly 60 seconds long.

Although each screen may start at a different time, every player knows where it should be within the 60-second cycle.

If the system is currently at second 25 of the timeline, all screens immediately jump to second 25 and remain synchronized.

This creates a seamless visual experience across the entire Video Wall.
