W Hotels Makes All-Inclusive Debut with Grand Opening of W Punta Cana

BETHESDA, MD – W Hotels, a prominent brand within Marriott Bonvoy's portfolio, has officially entered the all-inclusive market with the grand opening of W Punta Cana, an adults-only luxury resort in the Dominican Republic. Developed in partnership with Grupo Puntacana and MAC Hotels, this landmark property marks the brand’s first-ever all-inclusive location worldwide, aiming to redefine the segment with its signature blend of bold design, dynamic energy, and immersive cultural experiences.

Set on the pristine shores of Punta Cana, the resort is designed to offer a sensory-rich escape that moves beyond the conventional all-inclusive model. "W Punta Cana marks a bold and exciting evolution for W Hotels as the brand enters the all-inclusive space with the same tuned-in spirit and magnetic energy that defines the brand," said George Fleck, Senior Vice President and Brand Leader, W Hotels. "This resort is a statement that all-inclusive can be anything but expected. It’s about creating stories worth sharing by living in the moment and embracing the now – in true W Hotels style."

W Punta Cana features 340 guest rooms and suites, with every room boasting a minimum of 700 square feet, a private bathtub, and king-size bed configurations. Further elevating the luxury experience, 46 suites include exclusive swim-up pools or full-sized private pools.

The resort's design, conceived by the Spain-based firm Zanobia Arquitectura, draws deep inspiration from the Dominican Republic's rich history and natural landscapes. The aesthetic integrates elements reminiscent of the region’s colonial heritage and tobacco plantations, with natural materials and motifs inspired by the national stone, larimar, and local fauna. This commitment to local authenticity extends to the landscaping, which features winding, jungle-like paths adorned exclusively with native flora.

The property's communal spaces are designed to feel like a vibrant, creative village. Central to the experience is the brand's signature WET Deck, featuring an 80-meter infinity pool that serves as a social hub. For quieter moments, the Chill Pool offers a serene atmosphere with a swim-up bar.

A major focus of W Punta Cana is its boundary-pushing culinary program, which includes 12 distinct restaurants, bars, and lounges. Highlights include:

  • Trade Market: An interactive food hall concept with live-action stations inspired by global street food.
  • Scena: An elegant, chef-driven restaurant reimagining contemporary Dominican and Caribbean cuisine.
  • Taman Beach Club: The resort’s social heart, offering curated cocktails and a Mediterranean-inspired sunset menu.
  • 33 1/3 Speakeasy: An exclusive hideaway where vinyl records and unscripted mixology create an intimate experience.

Entertainment is curated to reflect local culture, with a music program led by Sinego, the brand’s Music Director for the Caribbean and Latin America, in collaboration with the Dominican electronic music collective Chinese Laundry. Guests can enjoy unique experiences like DJ-led sound baths, beachside silent discos, and nightly rooftop sessions.

Wellness is centered around the signature AWAY Spa, which features 10 treatment rooms, a Himalayan salt room, a sauna, and an indoor pool. The spa menu is inspired by local healing traditions, using ingredients like turmeric and single-pressed moringa seed oil. A state-of-the-art, 24/7 FIT gym and outdoor activities such as sunrise yoga complete the wellness offerings.

"At W Punta Cana, we set out to create a destination that’s as rich in cultural connection as it is in world-class amenities,” said Omar Rivera, General Manager of W Punta Cana. “This is a space for the curious, the creative, and the culturally connected."

The opening signifies a major milestone for W Hotels as it expands its global portfolio into the all-inclusive segment. The brand has already announced plans for two additional all-inclusive properties in Mexico: W Corasol Playa del Carmen and W Costa Mujeres, set to open in 2028 and 2029, respectively.
