WPO confirms participation at PACK EXPO International
From November 06 to 09, WPO (World Packaging Organization) will exhibit in the Association Partner Pavilion, Booth N-4511, at PACK EXPO International, November 6-9, in Chicago, IL (USA). Organized by PMMI - The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, the show offers a number of interactive venues for attendees, including industry-specific lounges, resource centers and the Innovation Stage, where educational sessions are presented throughout the day. There are expected to be more than 2,000 exhibiting companies, offering processing and packaging solutions to more than 45,000 professionals that will attend the trade show.
According to Thomas Schneider, President of WPO, the partnership with PMMI, in both PACK EXPO International and PACK EXPO Las Vegas, has been very successful during the last several years. “These shows are always a perfect platform for WPO to promote its projects, especially the educational ones. We have been very successful in showing packaging professionals and companies the number of programs WPO has been carrying on in different parts of the world.”
“And this year”, Schneider states, “WPO will begin recognizing individuals, within the world-wide packaging community, who have left a special mark on our sector. WPO will begin taking nominations for its first annual “Lifetime Achievement in Packaging Award”. This initiative has been established with the aim of acknowledging and rewarding excellence in all aspects of packaging science, technology, design and application across every country around the world.” Nominations may be made on the WPO website – www.worldpackaging.org.
Institutionally, WPO also aims to educate packaging professionals and society, through its members (packaging associations and institutes), about the important and invaluable aspects of packaging. “We are advocates for packaging: good packaging, cost-effective packaging, packaging that contributes to creating a more sustainable society. The world cannot do without packaging, so we must educate people everywhere to respect the purpose of packaging and teach them how to incorporate this tool into the process of building an ever more sustainable society”, completes Schneider.”
“The Association Partner Pavilion, in the North Hall at PACK EXPO International, brings together organizations with services and expertise across all markets in the processing and packaging industry. This Pavilion provides attendees the opportunity to connect with industry leaders, gain knowledge within specific market segments or find innovative solutions for existing challenges”, states Charles D. Yuska, President & CEO of PMMI.
Jim Pittas, Senior Vice President of PMMI, completes: “Industry organizations participating in the PACK EXPO International Partner Program understand the value of being present at the show, for their members and the whole processing and packaging industry. They serve as on-site resources, frequently connecting attendees with exhibitors, solving known challenges while sparking innovative solutions.”
